Anatoly NikitinArtistic DirectorOutstanding musician, head of the contemporary cello school, Anatoly Pavlovich Nikitin was born in Leningrad in 1931. He is graduated from Leningrad State Conservatoire named after N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov as the pianist and the cellist, and post-graduated from Moscow State Conservatoire under the Rostropovich guiding. Creative activity of the A.P.Nikitin is very many-sided. He has been working in St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra since 1953, being the soloist and the leader of cello group. He is well-known as notable chamber player, director of the cellist ensemble. He has been teaching in Leningrad (St.Petersburg) Conservatoire since 1961, where in present he heads the cello department. Honoured artist of Russia, professor, he has educated the pleiad of the brilliant young musicians, most of which have become the laureates of different competitions. There are students of USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Finland, Korea, China etc. among of his pupils. He was an editor of many cello pieces. He has a lot of records as a soloist and participant of many ensembles. He is the constant judge of different competitions; he conducts master classes in USA, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, International Musical Academy. | |
