On May 27, the historic Mikhailovsky Theatre, located in the very heart of St Petersburg, hosts a festive Opera and Ballet Stars Gala — a brilliant celebration of the city’s rich musical and dance traditions. The stage will unite outstanding singers and dancers, many of whom have performed at the legendary Mariinsky Theatre and trained in the same prestigious conservatories and ballet academies that shaped generations of Russia’s finest artists. The gala program brings together celebrated opera arias, dazzling ballet excerpts and memorable ensemble scenes from the world’s greatest masterpieces. Passion, virtuosity and artistic brilliance combine in a sparkling evening where the beauty of voice and the poetry of movement meet on one stage.
On May 27, St. Petersburg celebrates its birthday, a city with more than three centuries of history, which has experienced many events, but retains its greatness and unique beauty.
On this significant day, the Mikhailovsky Theater will traditionally congratulate St. Petersburg with a grand gala concert, which will be attended by opera and ballet stars. The evening will be decorated with a performance by a special guest, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater, People's Artist of Russia Svetlana Zakharova. Angelina Vorontsova, Ivan Vasiliev, Viktor Lebedev, Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, Ivan Gyngazov, Semyon Antakov, Svetlana Moskalenko and other leading soloists of the Mikhailovsky Theater will also take part in the concert, performing fragments from famous operas and ballets.
