Premiere in Russia
Zoltán Fodor’s production is inspired by the cult bestseller And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (originally published as Ten Little Niggers). At its core lies the concept of sin as a moral dilemma, explored through ten symbolic figures. The original plot revolves around a series of impeccably planned and cold-bloodedly executed crimes.
The protagonists of this choreographic detective story are at once executioners and victims. Yet all of them are ordinary people who have, willingly or unwillingly, committed something irreparable—deeds that remained undiscovered by justice and unpunished. We inevitably find ourselves asking: who is truly guilty, and who is the real victim?
In this surreal production, hidden secrets intertwine: crimes against individuals—or against all humanity—are committed right before our eyes. We see the signs of sin, yet everything proves futile: we are either powerless or choose inaction, while the guilty go unnoticed and continue living as if nothing had happened.
