| Ivan SitnikovDancerBorn in Leningrad (St Petersburg). Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (class of Boris Yakovlevich Bregvadze). Joined the Mariinsky Ballet Company in 2005. His repertoire includes: La Sylphide (Gurn), Le Corsaire (Birbanto), Swan Lake (von Rothbart, Mazurka), Michel Fokine’s ballets The Firebird (Ivan Tsarevich) and Le Carnaval (Pierrot), Leonid Yakobson’s ballets Shurale (Ali-Batyr) and Spartacus (Athenian Jester, African), Romeo and Juliet (Tybalt’s Friends, Montague Servants), The Bedbug (Dandy), The Nutcracker (Two Cossacks); staging by Mihail Chemiakin, choreography by Kirill Simonov, Alexei Ratmansky’s ballets Cinderella (Winter) and The Little Humpbacked Horse (Danilo), The Magic Nut (Polish Suitor); staging by Mihail Chemiakin, choreography by Donvena Pandoursky, Donvena Pandoursky’s ballets Metaphysics (Coloured Lines), The Meek One (the Man’s Doppelganger) and Le Sacre du printemps (Praying Mantis), Dmitry Bryantsev’s miniature Old Photograph, and the Dance of the Devils in the opera Falstaff. Since 2005 he has regularly performed in International Dance School gala concerts in Tokyo. In 2008 he appeared as Lankedem and Birbanto in a performance of Le Corsaire at the Opera di Roma. He has toured with the Mariinsky Ballet Company to the UK (London), Germany (Baden-Baden, Berlin), Italy (Venice, Ferrara), Israel (Tel-Aviv), the USA (Washington) and Japan (Tokyo). | |
