Awards include: 2004 - People‘s Artist of Russia; 1987 - Special prize at the International Vocal Competition in Barcelona, Spain; 1984 - Prize winner at the International Viotti Vocal Competition in Italy; 1972 and 1984 - Prize winner at the all Russian Glinka Vocal Competition.
Olga Kondina was born in Sverdlovsk (Ekaterinenburg). In 1980 she graduated from the Ural Conservatory (violin) and in 1992 she graduated from the vocal department She continued her studies at the Moscow Conservatory under Irina Arkhipova. Since 1985 Principal Singer at the Mariinsky Theatre.
Her repertoire includes: Violetta (La traviata), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Queen of the Night/ Pamina (Die Zauberflote), Liudmila (Ruslan and Liudmila), the Nightingale (The Nightingale), Sirin (The Legend of the Invisible city of Kitezh) among others. Her repertoire also includes a vast selection of French, Italian, German and Russian chamber music. Has toured with solo programs and with the Mariinsky Theatre throughout Europe, the United States and Japan.
