Ivan Sendetsky

Ivan Sendetsky graduated from music school in piano in 2011 (class of S.F. Izmailova, Honoured Culture Worker of Russia). In 2014 he graduated from the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Elena Dernova and Professor Anatoly Nikitin). He is currently a student at the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Anatoly Nikitin). He has taken part in master-classes given by David Geringas, Sergei Roldugin, Martti Rousi and Leonid Gorokhov. Over the past few years he has toured on several occasions throughout Russia (including a recital in Khanty-Mansiysk) and abroad, with appearances in Geneva, Zurich, Bern, Florence, Vienna and Stuttgart. He has also performed in a cello ensemble in a concert series organised by Germany’s Gartow Stiftung in St Petersburg and Hamburg as part of a joint project of the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg Conservatoire and the Hochschule fьr Musik in Berlin.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Classica State Symphony Orchestra, the Soloists of Nizhny Novgorod chamber orchestra and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. In 2014 he won 1st prize and the Gold Medal at the II International Svyatoslav Knushevitsky Competition. In 2013 he was a recipient of the Yuri Temirkanov Prize as best pupil of the year at the Middle Special School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire. In 2012 Ivan Sendetsky took 5th prize at the International Pyotr Tchaikovsky Youth Competition and 1st prize at the International Svyatoslav Knushevitsky Competition (junior group). In 2009 Ivan Sendetsky won a special grant from the Denis Matsuev Foundation in addition to being a prize-winner at the VI International New Names Competition (3rd prize, Moscow) and the International Chamber Ensembles Competition In Corpore (1st prize, Tallinn). In 2008 he took 2nd prize at the International Competition in Nizhny Novgorod. In 2007 he was made a grant-recipient of the Gartow Stiftung and won 1st prize at the International Competition in Tallinn.
