Alexei Massarsky

Cello

Born in 1965 in musicians’ family. Studied at Secondary special musical school for the gifted children of the St.Petersburg Conservatoire. Graduated from the St.Petersburg Conservatoire in the class of professor A.Nikitin’s.
Laureate of Markneukirchen (III Prize, 1987), Tchaikovsky (IV Prize, 1990) and Belgrade (III Prize, 1993) international competitions.
Collaborates as a soloist with many orchestras under the baton of such conductors as M.Jansons, S.Sondeckis, F.Mansurov etc. Performed chamber music with Martha Argerich, Zakhar Bron, Alexander Rudin, Sergei Stadler.
Teaches cello at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire.
