Alexei Aslanov

Conductor

Born in St Petersburg in 1995, Alexei Aslanov graduated from the Glinka Choral School in 2012 and the St. Petersburg Conservatory (Prof. Valentin Nesterov’s choral conducting class in 2017 and Prof. Alexander Polishchuk’s opera and symphony conducting class in 2018). He has taken part in master-classes held by Vassily Sinaisky, Bruno Weil, Dorian Wilson, Teodor Currentzis, and Yuri Simonov.

Prize-winner of the 3rd International Competition St. Petersburg Christmas Assemblies (Piano Category, Grand Prix, 2010). Diploma-recipient of the 4th International Musin Symphony and Chamber Orchestra Young Conductors’ Competition (2016).

Aslanov has appeared with the orchestras of the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Kostroma Philharmonic, the Tavrichesky International Symphony Orchestra, the St Petersburg Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Klassika Symphony Orchestra, The Nur-Sultan Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra and the Mariinsky Orchestra. He also conducted at the St. Petersburg Conservatory Opera and Ballet Theatre.

He made his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2007 as opera soloist (Miles in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw). In the 2018–2019 season he made his first appearance as conductor and since that same year has worked as assistant conductor. Since 2019 he has also collaborated with St. Petersburg Music House where he performs with major young Russian soloists.
