Graduated from Dresden‘s Carl-Maria von Weber Institut, specialising as a conductor (class of Professors Alexander von Bruck and Siegfried Kurz). Prize-winner at the international competitions Conduct for Dance (London, 1993), Internationales Dirigentenforum (Germany, 1993), Bottega (Italy, 1994) and Franco Capuana (Italy, 1996). From 1998-2002 was Principal Conductor at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and of the Karntner Sinfonieorchester as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the Sinfonica di Bari orchestra.
Guest Conductor at the Mariinsky Theatre since 2002. Has worked as an assistant to such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Peter Maag, Siegfried Kurz, Daniel Oren, Miltiadis Caridis and Barry Wordsworth. Has taken part in master classes of renowned conductors including Leonard Bernstein (1988), Julius Kalmar (1989), Sir Colin Davis (1991), Sergiu Celibidache (1991), Hellmuth Rilling (1993), Ilya Musin and Valery Gergiev (1993). Has conducted Sachsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Mariinsky-Theatre St Petersburg, Mariinsky Youth Pfilharmonic, Royal Ballet Sinfonia London, Royal Ballet Covent Garden, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Teatro di San Carlo Napoli, Orchestra del Teatro "La Fenice" Venice, Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Filarmonia Marchigiana,Teatro Comunale di Treviso, Filarmonia Veneta, Teatro Sperimentale di Spoleto, Filarmonia Mediterraneo, Virtuosi Saxoniae, Orchestre National du Capitol de Toulouse, Orchestre Symphonique de Bienne, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sofia, Sudthuringisches Staatstheater Meiningen, Preu‘isches Kammerorchester, Westfalisches Sinfonieorchester, Hofer Sinfoniker, Vogtlandphilharmonie Greiz/Reichenbach, Philharmonisches Orchester Altenburg-Gera, Thuringer Symphoniker, Westbohmisches Sinfonieorchester, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Karntner Sinfonieorchester, Orchestra Sinfonica di Bari. Took part in preparing the premiere of a production of Wagner‘s Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Mariinsky Theatre. At the Mariinsky Theatre he has conducted performances of Le nozze di Figaro, Aida, Lucia di Lammermoor, Siegfried, Gotterdammerung, Ariadne auf Naxos.
