The Mariinsky Theatre Brass Quintet: Yuri Fokin (trumpet), Mikhail Afonkin (trumpet), Alexei Pozin (French horn), Alexander Ponomaryov (trombone), Konstantin Zlatin (trumpet)
The Mariinsky Theatre Brass Quintet was founded in St Petersburg in 2008 by musicians of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. The ensemble has already won the admiration of the public, and in summer 2009 it became a prize-winner at the International Lieksa Brass Week Competition (Finland). In 2009 the ensemble took part in the II Brass Evenings at the Mariinsky Festival. It frequently presents free concerts in the Foyer of the Mariinsky Theatre.
