Russian pianist Eva Gevorgyan, is one of the top three at the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition. It took place in the United States in the city of Fort Worth, the Kultura TV Channel reports.
Fifteen-year-old Eva took second place and became the owner of the Press Award, losing to Australian Shuang Yun Lin. The third place went to Y Won Yang from South Korea.
The youth version of the Cliburn Competition was held for the second time, the first competition took place four years ago. It is attended by musicians aged thirteen to seventeen. This year, 24 young pianists from different countries came to Fort Worth.
The Cliburn Competition has a long tradition, its history has lasted since 1962. The point of attraction for musicians is the hometown of the famous American, who in 1958 became the first winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
Eva Gevorgyan presented Russia and Armenia. Previously she took part in many prestigious tournaments, having won more than forty awards. She also participated in Siniya Ptitsa - the contest of young talents. Eva studied at the music school at the Moscow State Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky, performed not only in Russia, but also in the United States and European countries.
