Sergey Tanin

Piano

Born in 1995 in Siberia/Yakutia, the young Russian pianist Sergey Tanin was awarded the 3rd prize and the Audience Prize for his interpretation of Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 at the Concours Géza Anda 2018 in Zurich. He is also a laureate of numerous international competitions in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg), Finland and Germany (at the Bremen Piano Competition).

Sergey Tanin started to play the piano at the age of 5. At 11 he had already performed with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In 2011 he was admitted to the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. Since 2014 he has been a student of prof. Irina Plotnikova at the Moscow State Conservatory.

Tanin has given recitals in renowned Russian concert halls, such as the halls of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Moscow International House of Music and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and he has also played in Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, Finland, France and Switzerland. He has performed as a soloist with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra and Maestro Christian Zacharias, the Musikkollegium Winterthur and Maestro Theodor Guschlbauer , the Bremen Philharmonic under Adrian Prabava, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Russian National Young Orchestra and the Yakutian Philharmonic Orchestra under Fabio Mastrangelo.

In connection with his prize at the Concours Geza Anda 2018 in Zurich, he now has various concerts scheduled in Switzerland, Greece, Germany and France.
