Kirill Terentyev was born in Perm in 1980. In 1999 he graduated from the Central Music School in Moscow, and in 2005 from the Moscow State Conservatoire in the violin class. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies there (class of Professor Vladimir Ivanov). From 2001 to 2004 he played in the Russian National Orchestra under Mikhail Pletnev. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra. Since 2006 he has been the leader of the first violins. In 2002 and 2003 Kirill Terentyev participated in the International Summer Music Festival in Verbier (Switzerland); he played in the Verbier Festival Orchestra (Artistic Director: James Levine). In the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra he has played under such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Maris Janssons, Paavo Jarvi, and others. He has toured with the orchestra in many cities in Russia and abroad.
