Born in 1947, he finished the Glinka Choir School, graduated from St. Petersburg Conservatoire, and completed his post-graduate course. Currently, he teaches conducting at the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music and the State Conservatoire in St. Petersburg. In 1987, Boris Abalian founded the LEGE ARTIS Chamber Choir, and his life has been inseparable from the ensemble since then.
Concerts worldwide, 18 CDs recorded, conductorship and jury membership at many prestigious choir competitions — all this verifies that Maestro Abalian is one of the most known and recognized choir conductors in today’s Russia
