Organist
Marina Vyaizya graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Music School in 1999 having specialised in piano studies (class of Mikhail Lebed) and from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2004 before undertaking postgraduate studies in organ (class of Professor Chausova) and harpsichord (class of Professor Rozanov); in 2005 she graduated from the Jean Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland) having specialised in organ studies (class of Professor Olli Porthan).

As a student, Marina Vyaizya took part in international master-classes given by Ludger Lohmann, Jon Laukvik, Wolfgang Zerer, Pieter van Dijk and Lorenzo Ghielmi among other highly acclaimed organists. As a grant-recipient of the Gartow Stiftung, she had a month-long traineeship at Stuttgart’s Hochschule fьr Musik und Darstellende Kunst under Professor Lohmann. Since 1991 she has been the organist and chorus mistress of St George’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Since 2009 she has been principal organist of St Maria’s Cathedral, where she also organises the Free Organ Concerts series.

At the III and IV Tariverdiev International Organ Competitions, Vyaizya won special prizes following which she undertook a tour of the north of England.
Since 2005 Marina Vyaizya has taught at the faculty of organ and harpsichord studies at the St Petersburg Conservatoire (organ improvisation, music performance and educational methods). Moreover, since 2010 she has taught at the faculty of organ and carillon studies at the St Petersburg State University while since 2001 she has worked at the Theological Institute of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria.

Marina Vyaizya regularly appears at concert venues in St Petersburg in recital as well as together with instrumentalists and singers. She has performed in numerous towns and cities in Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Great Britain and Germany. The organist’s extensive repertoire includes works from many different eras.
