Mikhail Vishnyak

Tenor
Born in Krasnoyarsk. Graduated from the Kiev State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire. Was engaged as a soloist by the Krasnoyarsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet and subsequently by the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre with which he toured to the USA.

Repertoire includes:
Herman (The Queen of Spades),
Jose (Carmen),
Cavaradossi (Tosca),
Radames (Aida),
Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly)
and Fidelio (Fidelio; he was the first performer of the role in the original German in Russia and took part in the concert performance of the opera at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow which was conducted by Thomas Sanderling).

At the Mariinsky Theatre he also performs the role of Canio in Leoncavallo?s I pagliacci.
