The Opening of the XVI International Ballet Festival MARIINSKY will take place at Mariinsky II on 31 March 2016 with the ballet "The Bronze Horseman".
Due to the expansion of the ballet company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (Vladivostok) there will be auditions for dancers in every category. Auditions will take place at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg on 29 April
From 31 March to 5 April Valery Gergiev will present the next series of concerts with the Münchner Philharmoniker at the Gasteig (Munich, Germany)
In 2016 the Mariinsky Theatre will be widely celebrating the 125th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Prokofiev. On 23 April – the day of the composer’s birth – the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev will give a matinee performance in Moscow and an evening performance in St Petersburg
